About
Trifecta Music Studio is a home studio in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The goal is to make music accessible, affordable, and fun for everyone. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Anyone and everyone can learn music. Whether you’ve never played or sung a note before, used to play or sing and want to get your skills back, a seasoned veteran preparing for a performance, or just want to have some fun, Trifecta can help you.
Karen is the founder and instructor. She began her journey in music in 1981 singing in church as a toddler and never looked back. She has studied flute since 1988 and is self-taught in piano and clarinet. Karen played flute all through grade school and has served on church worship teams since age ten. As a teen, she won many awards at the state and national levels as a vocalist.
Karen studied music industry and performance with emphases in worship arts and opera at Grace Christian University. She is currently the worship leader/pianist at New Horizons Ministry Center, a flautist with the Northview Community Band, and a vocalist with the Group Faith Gospel Choir. She has been teaching private lessons since 2004. Many of her students have gone on to musical theater and won talent competitions at the county, state, and national levels.

What People Are Saying
"Karen taught me from the ground up, giving me basic training and then expanding later when I had mastered the preliminaries. She was always professional and kind. I enjoy my time training with her."
"Lessons with Karen have been invaluable in helping me make real progress in my ability to sight read and play increasingly complex pieces. Trifecta Music Studio has provided flexibility with my lessons, being very accommodating of my often changing work schedule. I receive all the encouragement needed to continue learning at my own pace. I highly recommend the studio if you desire to improve your musical ability."
"I am a gentleman in my 50s. I had not played any music since my time in school and was interested in being able to possibly help out our praise team. Karen helped me greatly with reading music and getting my rhythm back. Furthermore, she kept encouraging me, that I was going to be able to overcome my physical limitations. I have been playing on the praise team for about a year now. Thank you Karen, for believing in me."
